Sand Sea Photographic Tour

The Great Sand Sea Photography Tour

Experience an unforgettable trip in the Great Sand Sea which is a place very rarely visited by tourists. You will discover more than just Sand and Dunes! On the way into The Great Sand Sea we visit a fantastic area with Salt Lakes, Witness Mountains and Wadis (Dry Ravines) with Palm Trees.
During these 2 weeks also enjoy the pleasantries of a large breakfast buffet, the best of meals (our cooking is excellent), good quality equipment, competent & knowledgeable guides of the area and The Best Beduin Team of The White Desert!

The Vehicles are comfortable and spacious.  (Toyota Landcruiser)

Take pleasure in an outstanding Photography Trip in  a class of its own!
After a
3 1/2 hour flight from Zurich with SWISS we land in Cairo!
A good evening dinner, comfortable lodging directly at the Nile in a 4* Hotel. Early the next morning we set off directly into the desert.

We proceed deep into the Great Sand Sea and offer you an unequaled route with many surprises.
All around us for a distance up to 150km is a beautiful landscape of only sand dunes !
We do what others talk about:
An adventure trip in the Great Sand Sea of The Sahara.

Our Itinerary
Cairo, only an overnight stay - drive to Bahariya Oasis in a comfortable bus- lunch in a garden at the edge of the Oasis (a very tasty feast), away from the oasis confusion and above all away from the loud and dusty restaurants on the road. From there, on to the Siwa Oasis in a 4x4.
Now, we come to grandiose landscapes with lakes, palms. enormous sand dunes, and so on. Landscapes of Salt lakes (unknown until recently!). In one area we find petrified shark teeth, in many places millions of Nummulites (stone coins)!
We meet the first enormous Dune landscape, resulting in wonderful pictures!
A stop at the Siwa Oasis with a visit to the Oracle of Siwa and bathing in the magnificent thermal baths!
After the Oasis we cross the Great Sand Sea from Northwest to Southeast ( about 400 km). Thereby Desert landscapes and beautiful Dunes are guaranteed! We meet the road again between The Bahariya and Farafa Oases after the Western part of the White Desert where we spend 2 nights. This part of The White Desert is also fantastically beautiful and offers an abundance of wonderful motives.
On Saturday return to Bahariya with lunch on the way then continuing on to Cairo.

The journey from and back to Bahariya is an arc of approx. 1000 km. It is therefore unavoidable that on one day we have to drive for 3-4 hours. Every day we go on wonderful Photography hikes and extended Photo walks......naturally very many photographs will be taken.

The White Desert (the area of the 1 week Photo Tour in the Eastern part) is not offered on this trip.
The classical "White Desert one week programme" can be added-on at the beginning or at the end of the
two week Great Sand Sea Tour.

We will spend a lot of time at the individual places.
Thereby the stay is optimal for time and light conditions to photograph !
Please note, awakening and getting up in the morning is early, very early! It will still be dark at breakfast.
Naturally during the day there will be sufficient relaxation time.
